Drafting original content

• Content created for articles, newsletters, blogs or press releases from your brief and any research sources provided, together with an indication of your required word count

 

Editorial support

• For authors: expert feedback on subject coverage, structure, flow, readability and tone

 

Copy editing

• For any purpose: checks for consistency, clarity, and relevance; ensure grammar, syntax, diction, spelling and punctuation are correct; reduce over-long sentences and paragraphs; double-check text references; ensure footnotes are accurate; remove unwanted formatting; ensure fonts used in headings and text are consistent throughout

 

Proofreading

• For any purpose: final check for spelling and punctuation errors in headings and body copy; review for consistency of headings, references and pagination; ensure font consistency; highlight any missing or repeated text; verify source references, captions to diagrams and illustrations

 

Artificial intelligence

• I don’t use AI in any of my work for you; everything I do is original and derives from my own creative intelligence.

 

Legal checks

I don’t deal with legal checks. In some cases, a legal check on your content may be advisable, perhaps once the final version has been agreed. There are publishing and copyright lawyers who can help with this.

 

Pricing

Depending on the project, I charge by the hour, by the day, or by word count. Hourly rates start from £30. For larger projects, a one-third deposit is required on signature.
